The purpose of www.ecomontenegro.com website (you can view it on www.ecological-state.com , too) is to fill in the gap that existed for many years in Montenegrin ''eco'' cyber space. It is widely known that Montenegro is the first ecological state in the world. That's why we make an effort to help Montenegro became prominent by its eco tourism, its ecological healthy food, beautiful nature and very rich cultural heritage.

ECOMONTENEGRO – the first ecological portal of Montenegro

Ecomontenegro.com is the first ecological web site in Montenegro that is dedicated to the promotion of all ecological potentials in Montenegro. The web site was established by NGO “Infomont”, in December 2004 and already had more than 3000 visitors. From the very beginning we started connecting existing ecological web sites from Montenegro and we have made a large database of Montenegrin eco links. We started cooperating with other NGO’s and institutions that deal with ecology and sustainable development of Montenegro. Another area of our work will include offering free web page on our web site for the ecological institutions and NGO’s that don’t have the possibility for online presentation.

 
Program Description / Purpose:

Our web site will be divided into several sections. The biggest and the most important section of the web site will be dedicated to eco tourism. We will present a huge variety of eco tourist potentials from which some will include: national parks, natural beauties, eco lodges, walking and cycling/mountain biking zones, bird-watching, agro-tourism, cultural heritage with eco architecture, naturism/ nudism, eco sport activities (sport’s fishing, diving, sailing etc).

We plan to put a special accent on undeveloped - northern part of Montenegro which, by the way, has the largest eco potential. We will divide northern part into several eco zones and make a special web page for each of them. We will put all the needed information related to visiting those areas, as well as, how to get there.

Then we will visit all important tourism business owners (hotels, eco lodges, apartments, restaurants etc) in each eco zone. We will describe them the importance of sustainable development of Montenegro, as well as how internet can make positive influence on their businesses. We will then offer a free advertisement for all of them on our web pages. They will all be listed inside of their eco zone, along with description, contact information and a picture of their business.

We also hope to describe potential of eco tourism and internet to average people – for instance villagers who might want to rent their houses, produce healthy ecological food or even make a special arrangements like - renting a stone house in the hills, fulfilled with a wonderful domestic food, or even a sort of agro-tourism, where tourists would help the villagers and live the real country life there. So, our goal would be to advertise them for free (since most of them never had a chance to learn what the internet is and not to mention the marketing attitudes of the people living in those undeveloped areas). Our purpose is to help them to attract the tourists and bring them here.

Another section of the web site would be dedicated to production of healthy ecological food. We also plan to make an interesting page about Montenegrin cuisine and explain how the food is prepared here. The purpose of this section will be to inform foreigners about eco food production in Montenegro and promote some of the main Montenegrin food products. We will make a list of all Montenegrin food and drinks companies, and present them online, in order to attract foreign partners and companies that might be interested in cooperation with them. Also, individuals who produce quality eco food will be also given a chance to present their work for free.
